FAQ's
How do I get to the site?
Type in Nick Sanders Expedition Centre in your Google Maps or Maps app on your phone. Look for the village of ABERCEGIR. It's 5 miles from Machynlleth, the ancient capitol of Wales and you'll see the Gathering site on the side of the hill. The full address is: Tyntwll, Abercegir, Powys, SY20 8NR
Can I turn up on the day
Sadly not, it's a private event by advance ticket only.

COMING & GOING FROM THE EVENT
Each guest will be given a wrist band on arrival, which they must present to people on the gate when re-entering the Gathering.
ARE THERE TOILETS & SHOWERS?
The site is on an underground bore-hole so water is scarce, but for the Gathering we do have 5 small showers on site and a new small posh wash shower block next to the Bar so if you are truly desperate for a clean up, book a time with Caroline and we'll sort it :)
IS THE FOOD EXPENSIVE?
Quite the opposite. Compared to normal festival food we are super value for money with no compromise on quality. You get the best evening meals and tea, coffee and cakes available on demand. BREAKFAST will be also supplied by us on site, bacon baps are known as our speciality, also ham & cheese croissants, teas and coffees all served up by Caroline's Breakfast Ladies
CAN I COOK MY OWN FOOD?
Yes you can as long as you don't singe the grass, so please bring a heat resistant pad to rest your stove on - "leave no trace". In fact we encourage you bringing a controlled 'kitchen' - more like proper camping and a lot of fun! Otherwise let us feed you with really nice home cooked grub!
WHAT ABOUT THE DRINK?
Think around £4 for a pint of incredible micro-brewed localbeer. £5 for a really great cocktail. The best cider you've ever tasted for £4. We charge nice prices not like the normal festivals out there and prices have absorbed inflation. We'll be as economical with our pricing as we can be.
CAN I BUY A DAY TICKET?
In a word, no, sorry - come for 2, 3 or even 5 days ... plan a really inexpensive holiday in Wales. It obviously includes your camping pitch but the Gathering is a small event with limited ticket numbers, therefore we are focusing on a relatively small number of full weekend tickets.
I'M A NOVICE RIDER CAN I JOIN IN NICK'S SECRET RIDES?
This is perfect for you! We'll give you a map, stuff with which you can programme your satnav and you're away. We'll even mark the cool cafes where you can have a munch as well as super locations to visit. We're a friendly bunch here at Tyntwll. Everyone is welcome to come along. The Secret Rides are ridden with mates or solo but at your own pace, enjoy!
CAN I BUY STUFF ON MY CARD?
Of course. There will be a PayPal and card option, although cash is best for us as the internet can be slow - so PLEASE BRING CASH! There are two cash points in Machynlleth so please stock up before you get to us, or dash over there during the festival if you need to grab some more.
CAN I BRING MY CAMPER VAN?
The field is not flat but there are limited flat spaces at the bottom of the field for a few small vans.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Only if it sits in a basket on your bike or a side-car and comes along wearing goggles!
CAN I BRING MY CHILD?
'Are they well behaved?'
"Yes"
'As long as they are over 16 they're welcome to attend.'
CAN WE BOOK A TRADE STAND?
There aren't trade stands at the Gathering, it's all about the riding, music and generally having a relaxed time in the Welsh countryside.
WHEN DOES THE ADVENTURE GATHERING SLEEP?
Being relatively small and so close to our village we have local restrictions. Also we are a 'gathering of active riders' so we need to keep our heads in shape! So the festivities start early and finish around 12.30am - in our minds we can go to talks throughout the day then party with abandon Thursday and Friday, a bit less Saturday ready for our ride home on the Sunday.
IS THERE A REFUND POLICY?
Festivals don't usually offer refunds because if people see a poor weather forecast for example and cancel, organisers like myself will have paid out thousands of pounds just to get to the opening date. Bands are booked, food ordered and paid for in advance, great ale etc delivered. But, after 370 ticket sales we create a short list of riders who want to book at the last minute and refund riders where we can. Otherwise it's up to you to find a mate to on sell it, but we will do our best
