South America
After a five year break from riding in the Americas, the need to return has always been in the back of my mind. The beauty of this magnificent continent is unparalleled. The variety of landscapes and wildnesses is as immense as the countries are large. I’ve found nowhere in the world that astonishes me in the way this continent does.
Ever since I was a youthful reader I read about Bruce Chatwin’s walks in Patagonia. I cycled its length before I returned on each of 8 occasions to motorcycle from Patagonia to Alaska. 160,000 miles full of challenge and magic.
As an adventure motorcycle tour guide since 1999 I have led hundreds of riders literally to every corner of the planet: around the world expeditions, trans Africa to Timbuktu, the full length of the Americas, Morocco 23 times and so many rides coast to coast across America.
South America by motorbike is a dream of most would be world travellers.
