The journey around Britain';s coastline started the end of April, setting out from my place near the ancient capital of Wales, Machynlleth. The idea was to sleep out most nights in my tent and record the story and edit the films on the road.

One of the first visits was to the Talyllin Steam Railway Preservation Society on the coast at Tywyn. This railway is the first in the world to be accorded 'preservation' status and I spoke to Luke Ryan, head of social media at the station and he sent me a lovely piece of 1950's historical footage of the line.
