Nick's luggage carrier designed and built by RENNTEC
"Nick contacted Renntec to supply
him with a luggage carrier for his latest journey. Due to the severity of the project it was decided that we would make a special carrier with additional strength. All of us at Renntec are very pleased to be supporting the fastest man around the world on two wheels with his latest adventure."

- David Morley

The Route - Stage 1

After launching the project in the UK, Nick will be travelling across Europe to Istanbul and Syria. Riding a 2008 Yamaha YZF R1 he will then travel to Jordan, Egypt and Sudan. Continuing on through Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, then across to Namibia via Botswana, Stage 1 will finally end in South Africa.

Weather
Hot and sandy in the north, tropical and jungle in the mid regions and more pleasant in the south. Weather not a problem. Africa has the best and the worst of everything. If you've done Africa, you've lived!

Concerns
"Big concerns because Kenya has kicked off and you never know what to believe. I've been in the shit before and I guess with some experience I'll be fine but I'll be glad when certain sections of Africa are completed. Lots of paperwork, loads of mud on the west side in the Congo which is useless for an R1 but better on the east side through Sudan, which I know well from my cycling days."
